Rachael Heslehurst: My name is Rachael Heslehurst and I'm a journalism student at Salford University, in my first year and a Quays News TV reporter. I feel very privileged to be studying at MediaCityUK, amongst the likes of creative media industries such as The BBC and soon to be ITV studios at the Quays. This blog will be the showcase of my work whilst studying to be a journalist, and the problems I have faced and highlights I have experienced during this period. I also hope this blog will provide a helping hand for aspiring young journalists like myself, with the involvement of job opportunities I have came across and work experience placements I have found via the web. Lastly, I hope to bring optimism to aspiring young journalists like myself and emphasise how important is is to never, ever give up.
